The obverse of the coin shows the Jody Clark fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse of the 12-sided coin was designed by David Pearce. It shows the floral symbols from the four nations of the United Kingdom; the rose for England, the leek for Wales, the thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Northern Ireland.
